I’d love to hear your comments so please email me or leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

Thanks for listening!

And here’s a version for all who don’t have flash players (Thanks Anna B for reminding me that some check in from an iPad!)

Hi! This is Lisa from Practically Intuitive. Welcome to the first podcast of what I plan to be a weekly series. My good friend Kara from Conduit of Joy and I were doing these together on a sporadic basis earlier this year. You can listen to those by going to the podcast link.

Kara’s taking a sabbatical for the summer so I decided to go ahead and do these on my own with the hope that she’ll join us as she can. I also plan to invite other intuitives and practitioners on in future podcasts.

As I go along here, I’ll be sharing with you some concrete ways you can take the guidance you get, however you get it, and put it to work in your life. Along with that, I’ll talk about a few of the different healing methods I work with in my practice with others: cutting energetic cords of attachment, diving into the Akashic Records, and I’ll also answer your questions about these and other subjects. I do a lot of reading on various metaphysical concepts and will be sharing that as I can.

Right now, for example, I’ve been listening to a lot of Robert Ohotto’s work on setting boundaries. It’s interesting stuff – his focus is also on concrete action to shift the energy and much of what he says resonates with me. I’ll be talking about that subject next week since it’s both near and dear to my heart and a good practice to go deeper into as you work with energy.

You can find out more about him at ohotto.com and I’ll be reviewing his book “Transforming Fate into Destiny” for the fall iissue of Pathways magazine.

As you might know, my focus is on bringing through guidance that you can put to use in your life right now. Even if it’s one small step, it’s a start. I think there’s a perception out there that you have to jump in feet first and it’s all or nothing when it comes to working with your intuition. I don’t think it has to be that way. I think you can inch your way in bit by bit.

What does ‘bit by bit’ look like in real life? It all starts with an intention. You’ll hear that ‘intention is everything’ in many woo-woo circles. Gotta tell you – that is the hardcore truth. If your intention isn’t there or if it’s muddy, you’re going to get vague guidance that is hard to put into practice. Your guides can only give you what you ask for. The more specific you are in your intention, the better they can assist you.

I talk about intention often on my blog because it’s really where you start when co-creating with Guides and teachers. But that requires YOU get clear about what you want / need / ask for. Lots of us (myself included) sometimes don’t have a sense of that or else we have just a whiff of a notion of a thought. 🙂

Setting an intention helps remind us of where we’re headed. It’s to assist in getting all dimensions of our selves aligned and moving in a specific direction.

I talk about intention in more detail in my ebook “Trust What You Get” based on the workshop I taught in March. Getting clear about what you want to bring through is key.

Here’s an example for you: instead of asking my Guides and Teachers to help me lose weight which is kind of vague, I can say this: “Please assist me in aligning my food choices today with my desire to release weight from my physical body.”

That’s pretty specific. Help me align my food choices TODAY with my intention to release weight from my physical body.

The more specific you can be, the better they can assist you. I used to think “Well, don’t they just KNOW what I need? Why do I have to spell it out?”

They do know what your soul wishes but your part is a) to ask them for the help and b) bring it down into a manageable time frame and be as concrete about it as you can.

Here’s another example: Let’s say you have to write an article for work but you don’t have any ideas or even know where to start.

What’s your intention: to complete a written article.

Here’s how to ask:

Guides and Teachers, please assist me today with the following: Open my eyes and my mind to new ideas and thoughts around the topic of (X – whatever that topic is). Please help me bring through in an easy and enjoyable manner an article that meets my requirements. (You can state what those are, if you wish.) Thank you Thank you Thank you.

That’s it. But see how specific it is?

I ask for things like this all the time and it never fails to come through. I’ll get a nudge about a topic for a blog post or a class I want to teach. Something always shows up when I ask with intention.

Another point: Always say thank you. I’s polite, of course, and I’ll all about being polite but energetically speaking, it’s a way of affirming that what you’ve asked for will show up. It’s reaffirming your trust in your Guides Teachers and your Higher self to work with you on what you want to manifest.

I hope this has been helpful to you. We’ll be talking more about this again but in the meantime, if you have any questions about it. Please contact me. I’ll try to answer them at the beginning of the next podcast.

Thanks so much for listening. Until next time, this is Lisa from Practically Intuitive. Have a good week!
