I’m pretty sure that Caroline Myss is doing mine. Also, Andrea Hess. And I’m thinking maybe Wayne Dyer did a lot of mine early on. In fact, I better credit him with starting me on this path in a very real way because much of my foundational work comes from his lectures and teaching.
How nice that all these lovely individuals were doing my work for me, isn’t it? Thanks, guys!
You ask “how did you manage to get such famous people to do your work?”
Well, let me explain then.
I was listening to Andrea Hess’s course “Step Into Power” the other night and she said something that jumped out and conked me on the head.
“You may tell yourself that you don’t know your purpose – but you do. Because you are drawn to the people who are doing a version of a very similar purpose.”
I thought of all the people who have influenced me over the past nine or so years and realized that the reason I was drawn to them is that they are doing a part of my work.
What is my work?
I’m an intuitive. Information for others flows to me in ways that even I don’t yet understand. Yet I know it and I trust it. That’s one of my soul gifts. When I look at those whose work I’ve gravitated toward, it’s people like Dr. Myss, Dr. Dyer and Andrea. They are teachers of metaphysical principles. All three of them are able to take BIG concepts and bring them down into ways others can understand and put to use in their life.
And really, isn’t that part of what practical intuition really is? It’s taking those things that you “just know” and putting those ideas and thoughts to use in your own life. If you look at the work of my three teachers, it’s all very similar. They don’t teach stuff just to store in your head and keep moving along, although I suppose you could. They all teach ways of *integrating* these big concepts in your daily routine so that you and others benefit from it – on both a soul level and a personality level.
It was Dr. Dyer who taught me that “Thoughts are things” and “What you think about expands.” – I *got* that on a very deep level and actively used that knowledge to do things differently in my life.
Maybe I wouldn’t say that pissy thing that was rolling around in my head. If I know that “thoughts are things” (and they are), then what energy am I sending out if I’m running around with a lot of pissiness in my head? Probably not very good energy, I’d say. So, I set about to re-route my thoughts.
(Let me tell you – that is not easy to do! I have to constantly remind myself not to judge other people’s clothing choices. Seriously. I do. When I’m out and I see someone in an outfit that horrifies me, one of my first reactions is to judge that person. Then, my higher self pops out and asks what about that person has touched the place in me that needs to judge? I also learned that from Dr. Dyer – judging someone is all about your need to judge and not at all about that person. As you can imagine, this gets tedious sometimes and it’s oh-so-much easier to just say “Oh my God – look at that outfit! EEK!” than to look inward and see what’s being poked. Still, I keep on trying. It gets easier with time. (Right?? Tell me it does!))
So, yeah. I’m a teacher. I can help you put your own intuitive skills (yep, we all have ’em) into practice pretty easily. The three who walk this path before me have taught me well. They did some of my spiritual work for me. Nice deal, eh? And while I’ve not (yet!) pulled down some big ideas like Dyer, Myss and Hess, I will. See? I just know it.
Who is doing YOUR spiritual work?
Look at the teachers you most feel drawn to. What do they all have in common? You’ll find a link for sure. I didn’t even realize until I started thinking about it what Myss, Dyer and Hess all have in common. I just knew that I somehow just absorbed their work like a sponge. It wasn’t that I had to sit and study it – it just seeped into my soul and I was able to use it as a springboard for my own work.
I’d love to hear who moves you and why so please feel free to share in the comments below.
