Jodi Chapman helps us “Come Back To Life” with new E-course!

Jodi Chapman  is a dynamo!

She’s an inspirational author, having co-written with her husband Dan Teck the bestselling Soulful Journal series and the upcoming book “Coming Back to Life: How An Unlikely Friend Helped Me Reclaim My True Spirit” .

Jodi’s also the creator of the wonderful E-course “Coming Back to Life” which starts October 1st.  You might have heard me mention it a time or two in my recent newsletters.  Along with many other names you may recognize, I’m one of the contributors to this delightful offering.

She’s poured her heart and soul into this project so here, in her own words, is what it’s all about!

Lisa: Jodi, can you tell the Practically Intuitive readers a bit about yourself?

Jodi:  Sure! I am an inspirational writer. (I still pinch myself when I write that because it’s such a dream come true.) I am definitely evidence that our lives can change drastically once we make our minds up and begin to leap toward our dreams. I write the blog Soul Speak, and I am so grateful for the loving community there.

Lisa What inspired you to create the “Coming Back to Life” E-course?

Jodi: I was given a helping hand when I needed it so desperately, and this course is my way of offering my own hand to anyone else who is stuck and needing to wake up to their own life.

Just two years ago, I was in a very different place. I definitely wasn’t awake. I was feeling lost and numb and completely disconnected from my soul and from all of life. Like so many of us, I was living my life on auto-pilot. I was alive in the sense that my body was functioning – my heart was beating, and I was getting up each day and going to work, but I wasn’t REALLY living. I was just going through the motions – sleepwalking through life – and I wasn’t even aware of it.

And it’s not like this numbing out happened overnight – it happened gradually over a period of many years. Throughout my life, when something or someone hurt me, it felt like a little part of me left. I’ve always been a sensitive soul, and sometimes it was just easier to retreat rather than feel the pain. I also have lived most of my life feeling afraid and stepping back rather than leaping when I was called to take a chance.

Also, I had spent several years in survival mode – struggling to get by financially, and was numb and needed to wake up and start living, I would’ve seen this as frivolous and not a great way to make sure all the bills were paid. So all of these pains and fears and struggles piled up on top of each other – creating a dark cloud over my heart. It was just easier to go to sleep and not think about it or feel any of it.

Two years ago, all of the struggles in my life came to a head – my husband and I had to move under very stressful and surprising circumstances, we were having a hard time staying passionate about our struggling gift business, we were drowning in bills with no light that we could see at the end of the tunnel, and we had just lost two people who meant a lot to us. So we were grieving and trying to put our life back together at the same time. All I wanted to do was crawl into my bed, pull the covers up, and wake up when everything was better again. I didn’t know how I was going to keep going.

That’s when the helping hand came. My loved one who had just died began communicating with me from the other side. He was my childhood sweetheart, and we hadn’t spoken in almost 20 years. I was definitely not open to this sort of thing at all, so it took an entire year of him sending me signs and me asking for more signs and on and on before we finally could get to work.

And once we did, my entire world opened up. He helped me see that being here on Earth is such a beautiful gift – a gift that we have chosen to be a part of. He helped me see that I wasn’t really living. And he helped me wake up and step back into my life again.

Our journey together has been life-changing for me. Everything changed – all because I now saw things through a different lens. I now know that my time here is precious, and I can choose to come back to life. We all can.

That’s why I created this course. I was given this beautiful gift, and I didn’t want to keep it all to myself. I want to be the helping hand for anyone who wanted to start living again and wasn’t sure how to do it.

Lisa: Wow! What a journey! And I love that you totally got the lessons there for you and turned it around and are sharing what you learned with others.  That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?  Can you tell us a bit about the E-course?

Jodi: The Coming Back to Life E-course begins on 10/1 and lasts for 6 weeks. It’s a helping hand, a set of concrete tools, and a loving support system all wrapped up into one heartfelt course!

This course is for those of us who have ever felt disconnected from life – from our soul. It’s for those of us who have felt our light dimming. It’s for those of us who know that there is more to life than simply getting through the day.

This course is for those of us who are ready to plug back into this magical universe, reconnect with our soul, and open our hearts again. It’s for those of us who are no longer willing to just “get by” and sleepwalk through our days. It’s for those of us who are ready – truly ready – to start living fully.

Lisa: I have been there and done that! It makes all the difference having someone to shine the light for you as you walk the path, holding hands with others for safety and courage.  How’s it all work?

Jodi:  Each Monday for 6 weeks (starting October 1) , you’ll receive an email with that week’s goodies (the workbook, videos, guided meditation, soul art, etc.). You can either set aside a chunk of time each day to spend on the course, or you can take one day to work through all of it. It’s completely up to you!

Every Thursday, you have the option of being part of the live online chat where we can connect about that week’s content. There are optional assignments every week where you can participate with the Facebook group, too!

All of this is completely optional though and can be completely self-paced. Some of us work better in a group, and some of us work better on our own. This course can be as group oriented or as self-paced as you are comfortable with.

If you find that it’s too much for your busy schedule, slow down and stretch it out. The material is yours forever, and you can go through it when the time is right for you.

Here’s what the course includes:

  • Over 150 pages of love – including weekly lessons + soulful activities. This is where you get to show up for yourself. This is where you get to reconnect with your soul and discover who you are deep down at your wisest, most loving core.
  •  Heartfelt Videos. This course contains over 30 soulful videos! Each week includes at least one video from me sharing that week’s message, one from an inspirational soul sharing their story, and one designed to teach, inspire, and offer concrete tools that you can apply to your own life.
  •  Guided Meditations. Each week contains a guided meditation that is specific to that week’s message. They are grounding and calming, and I find them to be so helpful.
  •  Beautiful offerings from over 35 soulful friends who are also on this journey of self-discovery. These friends have been on a similar journey and are brave enough to share their experiences with you. Whether they share their stories and inspirational messages through video, audio, artwork, or writing – they all serve the same purpose: to help lift you up and see that you are not alone. We have all experienced the darkness, and we have all opened up to the light.
  • A private Facebook community. In this community, we can all join to support each other in our journeys, ask questions, and share our experiences. This community will be available to you even after the course ends.
  • Weekly chat sessions. This will be a space where we can go deeper into the material, truly support each other at the soul level, and really create a tribe filled with love and nurturing energy. I will commit to spending at least one hour each week there to talk in real time with you!
  • My guidance/story. Throughout my life, I have found that I like to have things modeled for me – it helps me retain what I’m learning if I can see how someone else implements it in their own life. With that in mind, each week includes my own experiences and what I have learned along the way.
  • Soul Art. I have designed printable posters to go with each week’s message. Perfect for hanging up around your sacred space and filling your soul with love each time you see it!
  • Surprises. Who doesn’t love surprises? I have a few fun things up my sleeve that I’ll be sprinkling throughout the course – gifts of love that I can’t wait to share with you!
  • Bonus gifts. When you register for this course, you’ll received instant access to over $150 in amazing bonus gifts!

When you register, you’ll immediately have access to the private Facebook Group, where we are already getting to know each other! You’ll also be able to download all of the bonus gifts and start going through them right away.

Lisa: Jodi, that is an amazing course! Holy cow!  I really like the idea of it being self-paced if that’s what someone needs. Sometimes life just gets in the way and you fall behind and feel left out. And there are lots of others who need the support and encouragement of others going through it at the same time.  Yes, Virginia, it can be all things to all people!

Speaking of which, Can you tell us some of the benefits to joining the E-course?

Jodi:  Oh my gosh, there are so many!

First, I would say that the biggest benefit for anyone who enrolls is to know that they have taken the first step toward embracing their life. They have walked toward the light and are sending a clear message to their soul that they are no longer okay with sleepwalking through life. Through awareness comes healing, and recognizing that your life isn’t how you would like it to be is the first step toward creating the life you want to be living.

Second, I would say that knowing you aren’t alone in feeling this way is a huge relief and a benefit that will last a lifetime. Like I said earlier, I went through much of my life completely closed off to outside help, and it was a very lonely way to live. Once I opened up and allowed others in, everything changed. I now feel love constantly pouring in, and I am constantly letting it flow out as well. It’s a much more free and loving way to live, and you’ll definitely experience that within the course.

And that’s just a sampling of the benefits! There’s a lot more to encounter along the way.

Lisa: How can going through this course really bring change into our life?  So many courses promise it but sometimes it doesn’t materialize.  How can we be sure?

Jodi:  Well, this course can’t change your life unless you are willing to change the way you are living your life. You have to be open to it and you have to be willing to put in the work. That may sound harsh, but it’s the truth. I have read tons of self-help books throughout my life and was always disappointed when nothing changed. Well, it was because I simply read the book but didn’t apply any of the teachings to my own life. I read them like I would read a novel – simply for enjoyment rather than to learn and REALLY change and grow.

If you sign up for this course and simply watch the videos and read through the workbook but don’t apply any of the exercises to your own life, I’m sure you will enjoy everything but I would bet that nothing in your life will change. You have to make the choice to take action. You have to be so fed up with your current way of living that you are honestly ready to make a change.

And if you are, then this course really can help you. It’s based on what I went through in my own life, so I know that it works.

Once you decide to wake up and start living fully, you will begin to examine why you stopped living and then you get to figure out how to heal from that, forgive yourself and anyone else that needs to be forgiven, open up to the universe, and begin embracing your life again.

And no, it’s not always as easy as this makes it sound. But once you begin and once you feel that glimmer of hope again – that feeling that you probably haven’t felt in a really long time – you won’t want to turn around.

You’ll want to keep moving toward the light. I guarantee it. This course will start you on a beautiful journey that you will continue for the rest of your life.

Lisa: Oh yeah! I’m totally with you on that – you have got to change some actions down here in the third dimension to see change here in the third dimension.  So, what do you hope people will take with them at the end of the six weeks?

Jodi:  I want them to see that there is another way to live. I want them to really know that we have a choice – we truly don’t have to go through life simply going through the motions and just getting through the day. There is an entire universe out there that we are only just beginning to tap into. Our soul is connected to such a beautiful world – and waking up is the key to experiencing this way of life.

Lisa: Where can my readers find out more about joining in?

Jodi:  They can go to the “Coming Back to Life” page where they’ll  learn all about the course, including each week’s content, a detailed description of all they’ll receive in the course, and a complete list of contributors and bonuses!

Lisa: Awesome! I can’t wait to see it up and running! It sounds fabulous.  Any last thoughts for us?

Jodi: We have all felt disconnected from our soul and the universe throughout our lives. This is completely normal. And when we feel this way, it can be hard to know how to plug back in. When I was feeling numb, I had a friend help guide me back. That’s why I created this course – to be that helping hand for you. To offer concrete tools and a loving community to support you in your journey back home. I would be thrilled if you joined us.

Isn’t it time you woke up and embraced your life again?

Isn’t it time we all did?

This amazing e-course begins on October 1st – I hope you’ll choose to come back to life!

Lisa: Thanks so much, Jodi.  You’ve done some big work and I know it will shine the light for many who truly need it.  I’m so glad to be a part of it!

Readings and healings and balance, OH MY!

If you’ve never had a reading with an intuitive or a psychic or a medium, you might not be sure what to expect.

I’ve sampled many a reading in my day including:

  • a session with renowned psychic Rev. Dr. Reed Brown of Arlington Metaphysical Chapel wherein he told me the name of one of my Guides in Spirit.  Now, the guide was not your usual run of the mill Archangel (Sorry, Archangel Michael, no disrespect intended!) but the unusually named Vywamus.  The funny thing is, on the way to the appointment, I asked Vy to come through Pastor Brown so I’d know he was real.  And he did.  Back then, I was shocked. Now? I just smile and say “Yeah”.
  • healing sessions with several wonderful practitioners who used energy work to shift things around
  •  Aura healing sessions to remove cords of attachment
  • Personal Coaches who openly used their intuitive skills to guide me

Each healer used their wonderful Creator-given skills to assist me in moving forward on my path.  And each did it in a very unique way.

That’s the thing.

When you make an appointment with an intuitive, a healer, a psychic, a medium, etc.  you really can’t know ahead of time what to expect.

The way I bring through messages is very different than the way my friend Kara does, or AJ or Francis.

Are all valid?

Here’s why: You will be drawn to working with someone who is uniquely positioned to give you the message, healing or guidance you need.  I’ve seen that happen time and time again.

If you feel like you need some support on your path, how do you decide which way to go?

Let me offer some suggestions:

1) Ask your Guides and Teachers in Spirit to help you find someone with the set of skills that will best assist you.  And then pay attention to who shows up – what websites come through that pique your interest.  If a name of a reader or healer is mentioned out of the blue a couple times, you might want to look into that.  It’s what we in the biz call “a message” (heh!).

2) Do you like the energetic ‘feel’ of a certain person? That’s a big big clue. I remember going to a lunchtime seminar many years ago and really liked the speaker.  She happened to be a therapist who was lecturing about the benefits of humor in the workplace.  I knew I wanted to work with her right that day.  She became my therapist (and truly the person who kept me from going off the deep end) for many years.

3) Write to or email someone you’re considering working with and see how they respond.  My letter to the crossfit gym last week elicited a response from the lovely Drea that made me feel warm and taken care of and really paved the way for me to sign up for the appointment.  It was a big sign that I was moving in the right direction.  If you receive a response that makes you feel that way, take action.  It (and they) showed up to help you move forward.

What’s been your best way of knowing who can help you? A feeling? A recommendation? A nudge? Let us know in the comments below.

The Importance of Self Awareness

I’ve mentioned Veronica before – April Crawford is an  open, deep-trance channel for a spirit guide called “Veronica” who shares  nuggets of wisdom in a weekly(ish) newsletter.

This one is particularly apt for where we are now in our collective consciousness.

The Importance of Self Awareness

“Each physical life offers an opportunity to expand the soul. Life lessons are created to offer the choice in regard to the accomplishment of that. The physical reality offers the choices but alas also offers many distractions that can keep one from attaining their full potential.

Attempt each day to have awareness of your participation. Within the chatter and noise of the physical lies a path to the core of your own soul.    It is important to maintain the trueness of that path by being totally aware of your participation in this physical realm.

Decide to release unnecessary drama that can cloud your purpose. Often that includes separation from those who are creating the drama, and taking responsibility for your energy within the moment. A complicated moment it may seem, however, once the energy is silenced, the clarity of your soul speaks loudly.

Take the time for the exploration. Be aware of your soul and its need in this reality. Often the chaos is a reflection of those around you, not necessarily your own vibration. By being self aware, you may be able to discern the root of the chaos.

Align with the rhythm of your inner energy. Be aware of all its nuances, and become harmonious with it.

It is a great gift to be evolved, but the moment becomes more enhanced by being aware.

Pay attention to the small moments. They are the seeds to the garden of your experience.

Be aware of what your energy brings to the table. Be responsible for altering your perspective in the situation. That ingredient may realign the drama and enhance the evolution.”

It’s all about being conscious, being open and being in gratitude for what shows up. After all, you created it, right??

10 Sure Signs Someone Is Working From Ego

This is a post by Lisa Turner – you find her at Psycademy where she teaches all about psychic knowing, spiritual work and other fun things I think you’ll like.

Ego or Enlightenment

10 Sure Signs Someone Is Working From Ego

Here is a light-hearted look at the many faces and phrases of ego. Have a read and notice where your clients or prospects use these. Read through to the end where you’ll learn a simple way to deal with it.

1. Blaming others – going into victim mode

Any time someone blames other people, events or circumstances it’s a sign they’re not taking responsibility. They will give plenty of very good reasons why their life isn’t perfect, and it’s never anything to do with them, their choices or their responses to events. There’s just nothing they can do about it. They also like to spend a lot of time grumbling about it.

An enlightened person looks at the situation, decides what they would like to be different, and then go and put into action those things necessary to make that happen.

2. Blaming themselves

It goes like this “it’s all my fault! I’m not a good enough… I should have…. I shouldn’t have…”

It can look like being evolved, but really it’s an excuse to stay in the past, and to not make changes in their behaviour, beliefs and attitudes. It’s also very attention seeking.

An enlightened person will say “hmm, well, that was interesting… and here’s what I’m going to do differently next time” and then quietly get on with making best of the situation.

3. They are always right (and never wrong)

The inability to admit a mistake ever is a sure sign of ego. This person will defend, argue and use all kinds of evidence to demonstrate they are right.

An enlightened person will know that there are many truths, and it’s for each person to find what works for them. They allow others their own truth, are willing to experiment with other ideas and then make up their mind what works for them.

4. They know everything ABOUT everything

You know the type. They know everything. They’ve read every book, know every spiritual theory and will gladly tell you about them all the time. Often they are so full of knowing that there’s no room for new ideas.

A sign of true enlightenment is the ability to learn from everyone and anyone in any situation. They will ask questions. They will seek to understand others.

Podcast #23: Who is YOUR mirror? Why we sometimes react so strongly to others

If you’ve had a strong emotional reaction to something that’s hella out of proportion to whatever it is, you can bet cash money that it’s pinging something inside you that needs to surface.

We are all mirrors for each other – for better or worse. Mostly, it’s all just lessons. (I know! Isn’t every dag thing a lesson???)

Today’s podcast sheds some light on those mirrors and what to do about it when they show you a side you don’t like.

So, what are we talking about today?

I am the metaphysical book reviewer for Pathways Magazine and I get sent a lot of books for possible review. It’s almost like a dream come true for me! More books and free ones at that! I recently received a 25th anniversary edition of “Living in the Light” by Shakti Gawain. Have you heard of it? I remember buying it many years ago but don’t recall reading it. (I think my addiction is to buying books and not always reading said books. But I digress.)

Anyway, I paged through it to get a feel for whether it’s something I want to review for the next edition and found a lot of good, relevant information on living intuitively. The more I read it, the more it resonated with me. It’s a really good book with lots of practical exercises and grounded information. I highly recommed it!

What piqued my interest and what I’m talking about today is something from that very book. Learning to view the world as your mirror. Think of everything you like and enjoy about your life right now. You created these things. They are your mirrors.

Other people in your life? Also your mirrors. Gawain says this: “If you are emotionally triggered by something a person does, the two of you are probably mirrors for each other. It may appear that you have opposing viewpoints, but internally you are probably similar. One of you is acting out one side of the internal conflict while the other plays out the other side.”

You just know I have a true-life example of this don’t you?? Ah, you all know me too well.

Once upon a time, I worked in an office next to a really nice woman. Usually, we got along fine. But she had this really deferential thing going on around the men in our office. As if they were always the authority figure or something even when they weren’t her direct supervisor. She’d go into subservient mode around them. I half expected to see her bowing and scraping as they walked by! And this was someone who knew the business inside and out and could dance circles around them knowledge-wise. It drove me nuts to see her do this.

Even before reading Shakti’s book, I knew that this was all about me and not so much about her. I mean, really, what does it matter to me in the scheme of things if she wanted to be so deferential? How was that impacting my life? It wasn’t.

So, it really must be about what it’s stirring up for me. Where in my life was I giving away my power? To whom was I being deferential? Was there room for me to make some changes?

I really did some soul-searching about it and made some small steps toward standing in my own power wherever it was needed. That was a good look in the mirror for me.

Another example of this concept was a co-worker who came and went all day as she pleased without consequence. I managed to work myself up into such a frenzy about it that I had to leave work early one day, I was just that angry.

Again, her doing that had little or no impact on me so why the full-blown meltdown? It was all a reflection of how I was feeling so imprisoned in my job and was angry about having to be there and be the one who cannot come and go at will.

When you experience an emotional reaction that feels really out of balance to what is happening, it’s almost a sure bet that it’s your shadow side poking at you, screaming to be heard. My shadow side reacts loudly to loss of power (in the first case) and being tied down (in the second) and let me know it. Big time.

By looking at these things as a reflection of what was being pinged inside me, I was able to bring them to the surface and get them out. The one where I felt like I was in prison? That was a lot of work unearthing and releasing. It was pretty deep and actually from previous lifetimes. Since it came screaming to the surface, I was ready to acknowledge and release it. So, I did.

Now? She still comes and goes and every now and again it pokes me but not like it did before. And when it does, I try to do something that makes me feel freer and not so tied down. I pay attention to those kinds of mirrors and know that it’s all about what’s going on inside me.

Are there situations in your life where the emotional response is out of balance to what’s really going on? I would invite you to write about it (or talk into a recorder if writing isn’t your thing) so that you can process and release it. If it’s showing up in a big way, it’s time to look at it and work through the ick so you can move forward. What’s that saying “What you resist, persists?” – so true. Until you pay attention and process what’s being shown to you, it will keep coming back like a cosmic 2 x 4 in bigger and bigger ways.

I’ll close this week’s podcast with the exercise from the book “Living in the Light” by Shakti Gawain:

Thanks, as always, for listening. This is Lisa from PracticallyIntuitive.com – have a wonderful “looking in the mirror” filled week! Bye for now!
