Upfront declaration: I am a wee bit of a conspiracy theorist. While Alex Jones has always been wayyyy too ‘out there’ for my taste, I’ve got lots of opinions on media manipulation, “let it happen on purpose” vs. “made it happen on purpose” and a whole host of other things. I’m fascinated by a whole world we cannot see but is there, nonetheless.

fear-1Several years ago, I became intrigued with an author named David Icke who is quite well known in these conspiracy circles. And he’s definitely someone you either love or hate – no gray area there with Icke. I bought four of his books and listened to a lot of his talks online and really immersed myself into the world of reptiles, Illuminati, satanic rituals and more. My monkey mind loves me some information and I got it in spades there.

You know what else I got?

Depressed. Low energy. Apathy. Hopelessness.

Hell, I can generate that on my own if I’m having a crap day. I don’t need to seek it out.

So, I stepped away from it because I recognized that while it was fascinating to me on a curiosity level, it was really jacking up my vibrational field.

The other day I was tooling around Barnes and Noble and saw Icke’s latest book and as I browsed through it, I kept seeing picture after picture of people in fear and turmoil.  Every single page had some sort of illustrated message that just reeked of “Be Afraid. Be very afraid!” and I couldn’t put that book back on the shelf fast enough.

No wonder it was jacking up my vibe!

When you step into higher consciousness, hanging out in low, fear-based vibrations feels like you’re swimming in sewage.  It really does.  And it has an effect on you in ways you can’t see such as the creeping depression, hopelessness, and low energy that came up on me as I immersed myself in it.

You may be familiar with David Hawkins who wrote the landmark book “Power vs. Force” which goes into great detail about the levels of consciousness.  This blog post by Nancy Bragin shows the various levels that, according to Hawkins, affect us all the time.

“According to Hawkins we, as humans, live at vastly different “levels” of consciousness. All these levels, along with the “truth level” of ANY true/false style inquiry, can be tested for truth and numerically “calibrated” through muscle testing, on a logarithmic scale of 1-1000. According to Hawkins, any person, concept, thought or object that calibrates at 200 (The level of Integrity) or above is positive (“power”); anything below 200 is negative (“force”). So far, so good. Hawkins’ “map of the levels of human consciousness” is highly consistent with most spiritual teachings, running the range from Shame (lowest) to Enlightenment (highest). Hawkins’ descriptions of the levels are accurate; his personal growth coverage , positive energy and similar concepts are spiritually sound.”

Here are where common emotions fall on that calibration scale:

Joy —540
Love —500
Reason —400
Acceptance —350
Willingness —310
Neutrality —250

Courage —200
Pride —175
Anger —150
Desire —125
Fear —100
Grief —75
Apathy —50
Guilt —30
Shame —20

So, when you’re constantly being pounded with fear, terror, worried that the world is going to hell, it’s lowering your own vibration making it so much harder for you to get to where you know you can be.  You can’t hold high and low vibrations at the same time. Which one is going to win?

Me? I don’t watch television news at all. And when I start feeling all mopey and hopeless, I look at where I’m hanging around online and the people I’m associating with.  The answer is usually found there – too much time in low vibration really saps me of my energy.

Take a look at who you are spending time with every day. Are they people who lift you higher or are you surrounded by low energy ‘fear porn’ types?

Where are you on Hawkins’ scale day-to-day?
